Safeguarding
St
Joseph’s Retford is committed to the Safeguarding Policies of the Catholic
Church in England and Wales, to protect children and vulnerable adults from any
form of abuse or ill-treatment and to promote a safe environment for them.
This commitment
emanates from the fact that we are all made in the image and likeness of God
and the Church’s universal belief in the dignity and uniqueness of every human
life.
We start
from the principle that each person has a right to expect the highest level of
care and protection, love, encouragement and respect that we can give.
At St
Joseph’s Retford, the Safeguarding Team consists of Sarah Dowde (LSR), Elaine
Brett (LSR), Irene Kirdzik, Michael Szarelis and Robert Macioszek. They are all
volunteers who are committed to promoting good safeguarding practice within the
parish.
Their
responsibilities include:
· Making sure the Parish is aware
of Safeguarding
· Promoting good practice
· Processing applications for
volunteer roles
